Dubai Police and HP said they have no idea who is behind the counterfeiting wave that is currently hitting both the UAE and Saudi Arabia, but many of the counterfeit goods hail from China, reports Middle Eastern tech news site ITP.

An online DIY and how-to magazine has presented a video guide to printing invisible documents with an inkjet printer. The method involves removing the yellow sponge from the inkjet cartridge, cleaning it out and placing it in a beaker of lemon juice, before inserting the sponge back into the printer.
The magazine, Make, had its video highlighted by technology blog Technabob, which stated that this method of writing invisible messages is “way more geeky” than the typical method of writing with lemon juice.

Will a widespread shortage of HP’s black toner cartridges provide an opportunity for the aftermarket?
HP’s CE285A or 85A cartridges, used in monochrome LaserJet Pro M1212 MFP and LaserJet Pro P1192W, are still in short supply, reports Actionable Intelligence.
After initially reporting a shortage of the cartridges in January, it appears that HP is still not meeting the demand for its toner cartridges. This may provide an opportunity to compatibles manufacturers if customers choose to seek aftermarket alternatives to the unavailable OEM originals.
